Akber Hossain
Mr. Akber Hossain is a retired civil servant of the Government of Bangladesh. He has more than 33 years of work experience in various positions in field administration and different Ministries. Mr. Hossain has unique and unparalleled knowledge, and expertise in the realms of financial inclusion, as well as poverty alleviation in rural Bangladesh. He was the founding Managing Director of Palli Sanchay (Rural Savings) Bank – a state owned specialized bank for the rural poor. He also served as the National Project Director of the Ektee Bari Ektee Khamar (One House, One Farm) project of the Government – the largest poverty alleviation initiative in the country. He retired from government service as Additional Secretary of the Financial Institution Division of the Ministry of Finance. He obtained his Master of Science degree from University of Dhaka.
